The length is 109m and the width is 75m for this field. The best period of Sichuan team is 90s, at the Serie A beginning, Chengdu Sport Center came to be a symbol of the best market named "Golden Market", even full the more than 35000 seats at per game.

I was a fan of Sichuan team, and went to the center cheer for Sichuan team. We always wear yellow shirt, as the same color as my home team. Our slogan is "Xiong Qi", it is from local language, which means play up, from the TV, all the country known this local word. Few years later, our team played worse, we shout "Xia Ke" for the coach , the literal meaning is finish class, but in fact the meaning is let him go. All the country known this word by TV too. So this is the force from fans in Chengdu Sport Center.

Update news is we will build a new sport center in the outskirt of Chengdu city, but I do not know when will start and finish...

Chengdu Sports Center (get KMZ at here)

查看大图

Chengdu Beautiful City (6)

this picture is got from http://megwu.blogspot.com

Chengdu Wanlihao Ship Building (get KMZ at here)

Chengdu Wanlihao is a special building because it looks like a sailing cruise ship. As this special feature, it became a new landmark after be built at once.

Wanlihao is the name of this ship. It is seated on the bank of Jinjiang. Its original place is an old bridge, named "Old Southern Bridge".(Lao Nan Men Bridge). It was a stone bridge rebuilt in Qing dynasty. But the history can be extended to Three Kingdom period. Zhuge Liang ( this great man I will introduce him at another place and time) sent off Wu's emissary and said "Your long way is beginning at this bridge." This word makes the bridge to the oldest bridge which can be found in paper history, with the name Wanli. The ship building inherit the famous name.

Now, the bridge is disappeared instead of ship building. This building has 8 floors. 1st to 5rd floors are kinds of shops, restaurant, cafe, bars. My friends told me the bars are very good, but I never try at here. 5th to 7th floors are very good restaurant. The feature of 5th floor is normal Sichuan Dishes, 6th floor is better Sichuan Dishes and Guangdong Dishes, 7th is teahouse. The best is 6th, as it has the best view.

查看大图

Chengdu Beautiful City (5)

this picture is got from http://megwu.blogspot.com

The Statue of Chairman Mao (get KMZ at here)

The statue of Chairman Mao is seated the heart of Chengdu. It is the most famous landmark.

It was built in 1969, the original full name is " Chairman Mao waves hand and indicate us to go forward". This statue has lots of symbolism: the height from ground to the 3rd flat is 8.1 meters, indicates Army Day; The height of base is 7.1 meters, indicates the birthday of CPC; The height of statue is 12.26 meters, the same as birthday of Chairman Mao; there are 7 lotus on each wall of base indicate there was 70 million population in Sichuan.

The symbolism not only on the numbers, but also means something in that time. It was built in a crazy time of China. The people absolutely destoried all the ancient city, include some buildings like small "Forbidden City", just for want to show the loyalty for Chairman Mao.

When the carzy passion was exhausted, there are more meanings on this statue. There's a joke about what the statue takes to people: There's a seller who sells snacks is standing under the statue. One man asks the seller :"how much?", the seller answered:" Don't you see the Chairman mao? He indicated, 50 cents per set!" .

In 1997, Chengdu rebuilt Tianfu Square but kept this statue. Yes, this statue contains lots of memory and it alerts us do not crazy any more.

Chengdu Beautiful City (4)

this picture is got from http://megwu.blogspot.com

Chengdu Shangri-La Hotel and Anshun Bridge (get KMZ at here)

Shangri-La Hotel is very famous, so do Anshun Bridge in Chengdu people's heart.

Anshun Bridge is a new bridge but has long history.

The history is so long that nobody knows when the bridge built. :) But we can find it was re-built in 1746, more than 160 years ago and named as Long Rainbow Bridge. In 1947, because of huge flood, the Bridge was destoryed. Then, Chengdu people built a very simple bridge for walking only. In 1978, the bridge was re-built and named as Anshun Bridge. In 1982, the bridge was rebuilt again because of the flood. In 1996, because Chengdu city had deleloped very much, the old bridge could not afford any more, local government decided to re-built it. The new one was built from 2000, during 3 years.

The new Anshun Bridge archaizea mixed Ming and Qing dynasty style, 81 meters long and 6 meters wide. The surfaces of bridge is made of bluestone. The most interesting and most Chinese style is there are two statues beast of Chinese myth, they can make the bridge not only beautiful but also safe -- at least do not be flood away again. Of course, there are also other Chinese feature, such as lion statues stayed on the baluster, the carved flowers on the wall, etc.

Of course, in the modern time, Anshun Bridge have new feature. After the house built, for made it as a big garden, Mr.Weigao grown lots of flowers around it, the main plant was plum blossom, also some other small buildings. People would like to have fun in this beautiful garden. At the end of Tang dynasty, another governor changed channel, two rivers not only combined at Hejiang House, but also encircled the downtown. The poems, the governors, the aristocrats, liked to have fun with each other in this place, normal citizen would like to visiting the garden, hosted their guests at here, Hejiang House became to a mainly communication and entertainment place.

In NorthernSong Dynasty, it was re-built and got a short great prosperity again. But be destoried completely in SouthernSong Dynasty by war, only a small place left.

In 1989, government rebuilt Hejiang House as per Tang style. And according to history, the appearance is just like two houses combined, like the rivers combined. It is one of landmarks for Chengdu.

In traditional festival, we'd like to celebrate in Hejiang House. Such as dragon boat racing, floating river lanterns, etc. Of course, the most important function is the most important step of wedding, bride and groom would visit here and take some photos, to wish their life will like the rivers, from separate to combined together but smooth and sweat.

I wish your life like the river, smooth and sweet too.

Chengdu Beautiful City(2)

this picture is got from http://megwu.blogspot.com

Chengdu Amusement park (get KMZ at here)

Chengdu Amusement park is one of the most impressed interesting place for every Chengdu people's childhood. It is belonged to 80's. Every 80's can tell you lots of funny thing in Chengdu Amusement park. Such as roller coaster, giant wheel, carting, mini-racing, bumper cars, etc. My favorite is bumper cars, I can drive it well.

Giant wheel is a romantic entertainment, one circle is 15 minutes, you can spend these 15 minutes with your lovers in a small cage, if you have enough idea, I doubt you must win your lover's heart. Like me, when my girlfriend and me in the cage, the giant wheel rose to the top, I asked my girlfriend to look out from the window, "The view is so beautiful, this is our city." When her turned face, I kissed her. Now, she is my wife.

Only the memory can be continued, not the Chengdu Amusement Park, it will be closed recently. It 's history background is Dufu who is one of the greatest poem built a thatched cottage and living in it during he's in Chengdu. Dufu made a lot of poems when he lived in Chengdu, and we believe the Huanhuaxi gave him lots of ideas.

What about Huanhuaxi meaning? Huahua means wash the flowers, Xi means rivulet, so Huanhuaxi means this rivulet is used for washing flowers. Sounds so beautiful. The story is more beautiful. The story says, in Tang dynasty, there was a girl named Ren, lived near the river. One day, there's a monk with fully scabies and shabby dressing asked her to help him washing his cloth. The other people rejects but Ren was very kind and take his clothes. When she dip these shabby clothes into the rivulet, the imagic things happened, there's lotus were flowed out of her hand when she dipped the clothes. So, the rivulet get a name. Huanhuaxi, and the place where Ren washed the clothes named Baihuatan. And Ren named Ms.Huanhua.

In fact, the Huanhuaxi named before Tang dynasty. The convincing source says, the water in the rivulet is very good, when use this water to make paper, it could make the paper much more white, use this water to wash brocade, it could make the brocade much more bright, it could make the beautiful things more beautiful, like washing the flower.

In Tang Dynasty, the popular and fashion was take a short trip to visit Huanhuaxi, especially on Ms.Huanhua's birthday (Lunar calendar date is 19th, April). People would like dress well, and take some food and drinking (I think the drink should be alcohol), they would make some poems for the beautiful view or life.

Today, Huanhuaxi rivulet is still very beautiful, even it is the only one with 5 star park in Chengdu.

Chengdu Geography and climate from wiki

Chengdu is situated at the western edge of the Sichuan Basin. It is therefore sheltered from northwest winds from Siberia in winter by the Qinling Mountains to the north. The climate is mild and humid. The short winter is milder than in the Lower Yangtze because of the sheltering effect of the Qinling. Snow is rare but there are a few periods of frost each winter. The summer is longer, but not as hot as in cities such as Wuhan and Nanjing in the Lower Yangtse downstream. Average daytime highs are 10°C (49°F) in January and 30°C (85°F) in July. Rainfall is reliable year-round but peaks in the summer months.

Chengdu has one of the lowest sunshine totals in China (less sunshine annually than London), and most days are cloudy even if without rain. This is especially so in the winter months, when it is typically interminably grey and dreary. Spring (Mar-Apr) tends to be sunnier, warmer and drier than autumn (Oct-Nov).

from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chengdu#Geography_and_climate

PS:Today is too busy...Tomorrow I will write some intresting things of Chengdu's geography more.

Geography of Chengdu

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 163px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_5HxXdbJRILY/SRe8oEomhLI/AAAAAAAAAFw/aVEuEpThlq4/s320/Geography+of+Chengdu.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5266885685857911986" />
This map is got from google maps.

Located in Southwest China, Chengdu is the regional capital of Sichuan province. Local people usually go to tea house or just out of door when there's sunny. There's saying "Sunshine will bake everybody out of room". Sounds strange :).

Good day even will be a piece of good news appeared on local newspaper. Following the weather, it would suggest which place shall to go, which place is full of people, which major entertainment is most popular in sunny...For me, I'd like riding a long route go to a interesting place, BBQ with my friends, different from most of local people, they'd prefer to play MAJIANG under the shadow of tree or flowers... It's life, isn't it?

REF: http://xiaoqipao.ycool.com/post.1039376.html

[Week Topic] Chengdu Weather iii

Continue yesterday, we discussed about the cloudy and fog took something to people. The 1st thing is can not find sun usually, we discussed. The 2nd is it makes people feel too moist, like dressed wet cloth. My friends who are the first time to being in Chengdu, always claim to me about the weather, "There are too moist, I doubt how can get a dry cloth, is there any day sunny?" But on the other hand, the girls have good skin, very white and watery. There's a saying " You'll be regret about too early married after being in Chengdu". It means there are too many beautiful girls in Chengdu. Even somebody Chengdu people's speaking is smooth and slowly like the water.
Somebody think the temper of local people like the water, not too hot, not too anxious, everything goes smooth and have it's own step.
So, Chengdu's temper likes water. This is the typical Chengdu's weather.

Typical Chengdu girl and boy:

PS: She will get a baby very soon. In fact, rain is only one interesting thing of the climate. The usually weather of Chengdu is cloudy and fog.

Somebody said, there are only 2 months you can find sun in Chengdu. It isn't exactly, but very close. The official data (http://www.cdmb.gov.cn/search/detail.asp?ID=143) shows, in 2004, there were 1228.3 hours of sunshine during the year, if there are 12 hours are daytime per day, there are approxiate 102 days can enjoy the sunshine. But in the same year, there are 62.1 days were fog.

So, there is a saying, "Dog in chengdu will yap to the sun." It deeply descript the dog did not see sun frequently...(BTW, in today, this word means somebody do not know the normal things and make it as strange.) Even there's a famous folk song, which named "happy with sunshine" (listen and download at here: http://www.qj50.com/tp/2008/01/30/074359226.wma), people in chengdu will celebrate the sunshine. My mother told me, 20 years ago, if there's sun, everybody will take a rest from working, to do some washing, or take a drinking under sunshine.

The reason is the geography of Sichuan. Sichuan is Basin, it is rounded by high mountains. So the clouds and some wet air can not spread easily. On the other hand, because of these mountains, Chengdu has a different climate and very beautiful view.

In future, I will introduce them, please be patient. :)

[Week Topic]Chengdu weather i

Today is rainy. It's rainy season, a little cold, the temperature is approximate 15 Centigrade.

So, I started to this topic from rainy season.

Normally, Chengdu's rainy season crossed all the summer and beginning of autumn. The most interesting thing is in summer, the rain usually happened in night, and you can find only some small loblolly on the road. Don't be afraid of umbra, if there is very heavy rain, it means will finish very quickly, only once or twice will be last more than half day, I doubt you won't have the bad luck. So local people do not care if take the umbra when going out.

With the heavy rain, there are thunder and lights. Especially in this summer, there are more than 1300 times the lights hit ground. We are wondering it have some relates to the earthquake.

Yes, the terrible memory in this summer is the earthquake. As you can find in the right column, there's a slide, I took some photos on that day.

The first one.

This is the first one.
